For optimal cost and manufacturability, we recommend marking tolerances only on critical-to-function features (e.g., key diameters, sealing surfaces, fit-related dimensions). Applying a single, tight tolerance across an entire part is often unnecessary and can significantly increase cost. Our team reviews each critical feature individually based on material, geometry, and your application’s needs.

Can we start with prototypes before committing to production?

Absolutely. We encourage a prototype or first-article stage to validate your design. To help us provide the most accurate long-term plan, please provide your estimated annual usage (EAU) and target batch sizes along with your prototype request. This allows us to align our production strategy with your scaling needs from day one.

What documentation can be provided with our order?

We can provide a full range of documentation, including Material Test Reports (MTRs), Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), and full dimensional inspection reports. To ensure costs are quoted accurately, please specify all documentation requirements in your initial RFQ package.

How are design changes or revisions handled after an order is placed?

Minor adjustments may be possible before production begins, but significant changes require a formal engineering change order (ECO) to reassess manufacturability, cost, and lead time. We recommend finalizing your design before release, but we have a structured process to manage necessary revisions.

Can you manage complex finishing requirements, like masking?

Yes. We manage a wide range of finishing processes, including those that require complex masking for selective surface treatment. Please clearly indicate all finishing requirements, including masking areas, on your 2D drawing to ensure they are included in the quotation and production plan.

What is the fastest way to get an accurate quote?

The most efficient RFQ includes a complete package: a 3D model (e.g., STEP), a 2D drawing with tolerances, material and finish specifications, quantities, and all required documentation.
