CNC Turning

CNC turning is suited to parts with cylindrical or concentric features, including shafts, threaded components, and selected turned-and-milled parts. Process planning is reviewed according to geometry, material, quantity, and tolerance requirements.

Swiss-Type Turning

Swiss-type machining can support selected small-diameter, slender, and complex turned parts. The guide-bushing process may help support long, narrow workpieces, while achievable tolerances and surface requirements are reviewed by project.

Common Material Options

  • Aluminum Alloys: 6061, 7075, and 5052 options may be reviewed for weight, strength, corrosion, and formability requirements.
  • Stainless Steels: 303, 304, 316, and 17-4 PH options may be considered based on corrosion, strength, machinability, and project requirements.
  • Carbon & Alloy Steels: 1018, 1045, and 4140 may be reviewed for general machining, structural parts, shafts, and selected strength requirements.
  • Copper & Brass: C101 copper and C360 brass may be considered for conductivity, thermal performance, machinability, or hardware applications.
  • Engineering Plastics: POM, Nylon, PEEK, PC, and PTFE options may be reviewed based on mechanical, thermal, electrical, chemical, and wear requirements.

Finishing & Surface Treatment Options

  • Anodizing (Type II & III): Available for applicable aluminum parts. Coating type, color, thickness, masking, and dimensional effects are reviewed by project.
  • Passivation & Chemical Conversion: Passivation may be used for applicable stainless-steel parts, while chemical conversion coatings may be considered for aluminum parts.
  • Bead Blasting & Brushing: Bead blasting can create a matte texture, while brushing produces a directional satin finish. Masking needs are reviewed where required.
  • Plating Options: Nickel, zinc, and other plating systems may be reviewed for corrosion, wear, conductivity, appearance, or functional requirements.
  • Powder Coating & Painting: Colored coating options may be considered for cosmetic appearance and additional environmental protection. Thickness and masking requirements are reviewed by project.
  • Laser Marking: Part numbers, logos, and identification codes may be added where compatible with the material, finish, artwork, and marking-location requirements.
Quality control

Quality Verification Activities

Quality verification activities are planned according to part requirements, agreed inspection scope, and documentation needs. Material review, in-process checks, final inspection, and requested records may be included as applicable to the project.

Incoming material information may be reviewed against project requirements and available supplier documentation, including MTRs when requested.

In-Process Verification

Selected dimensions, datums, and process checkpoints may be reviewed during production according to the agreed inspection plan.

Final Inspection

Final inspection may include dimensional, visual, and documentation checks based on agreed drawing and inspection requirements. CMM or VMS measurement may be used where specified.

MTRs, CoCs, inspection reports, and traceability records may be available when requested and confirmed during quotation or order review.

What are your lead times and minimum order quantities (MOQs)?

Lead times vary based on part complexity, material availability, quantity, finishing requirements, and current production capacity. We support low-volume and single-part requests where feasible; larger projects receive a production schedule during quotation.

How do you determine the manufacturing process for my part?

We review part geometry, feature access, material, tolerances, quantity, and finishing requirements during quotation and engineering assessment. Milling, turning, Swiss-type machining, or a combined approach may be considered based on project requirements.

What information is needed for a quote?

Please provide a 3D CAD file, when available, and a current 2D PDF drawing identifying critical dimensions and tolerances. Material grade, quantity, finish requirements, target delivery date, and requested documentation also support an efficient quotation review.

How do you manage tight-tolerance and repeat-order requirements?

Tight-tolerance features are reviewed according to part geometry, material, machining strategy, and inspection requirements. For repeat orders, production and inspection requirements can be reviewed against the approved drawing, order details, and confirmed process controls.

Can material certificates and inspection reports be provided?

MTRs, CoCs, inspection reports, and other documentation may be available when requested and confirmed in the quotation or purchase-order scope. Please identify required standards, report formats, and inspection requirements in your RFQ.

How do you handle design confidentiality?

Customer drawings, CAD files, and project information are treated as confidential and used for quotation, engineering review, and manufacturing purposes. If required, we can review a mutually acceptable NDA before detailed technical information is exchanged.
